The Bisons (15-5 regular season; 3-1 playoffs) will play #6 seed University of Toronto (14-5 regular season; 3-0 playoffs) in their first match on Friday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. CT. Manitoba has played the 2010 OUA (Ontario University Athletics) conference champion once this season in a non-conference match at the start of the 2009-10 season. Manitoba defeated the Varsity Blues by a 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-13) score on Oct. 2/09 at the U of Winnipeg Invitational tournament.
The Manitoba Bison women’s hockey team (18-6-0; playoffs: 2-1) will play in their sixth consecutive Canada West Final against the Alberta Pandas. The #6 CIS ranked Bisons travels to #3 ranked Alberta to face-off in the 2010 Canada West Final best-of-three series starting on Friday, March 5. All games will be played at Clare Drake Arena on the University of Alberta campus in Edmonton, AB.
For this season, there is only one CIS Championship berth for Canada West with the winner of the conference championship earning a place in the six team 2010 CIS Championship held at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
