Athletic Directors Message

I am pleased to introduce the University of Manitoba "Bison Pride Foundation". This program allows you to support the many quality student athletes who contribute significantly to U of M while proudly wearing the Bison Brown and Gold. Our vision is to attract the highest quality student-athletes to our campus. Providing assistance will reduce the financial burden of attending a post secondary institution while allowing these most deserving individuals to excel, both academically and athletically.

Varsity sport provides a very real and powerful educational experience for our student-athletes and teaches life skills in a very unique and challenging environment. To all of you who have shared in this experience, please remember the impact that Bison Sports has had on your life and generously support the "Bison Pride Foundation".

Welcome to the Bison Pride Foundation

The success of the Bison Pride Foundation is growing each year and would not be possible without the support of our alumni and friends of the program. Thank you for making last year a record year for Bison Sports. Over $1 million was raised in 2006-2007 in support of student athletic scholarship endowment funds for Bison Sports. Bison Sports’ goal is to continue to build on that success and take our programs to the next level.

Recruiting the best and brightest to the University of Manitoba is a priority for the university and Bison Sports. By keeping the top student athletes at home in Manitoba, we increase the chances they will stay at home and become the leaders of tomorrow. Your support goes a long way in helping us reach our goals.

Special thanks go to Ross Robinson, David and Ruth Asper, Fran Pollard and the Pollard Family Foundation, as well as T.D. “Davey” Einarsson for their generous support of our scholarship endowment programs last year.
