Bison Jordan DePape captures Canada West conference men's hockey scoring title with 41 points and becomes first Bison to accomplish this feat since Canada West and GPAC merged in 1985-86.

Bison third year men's hockey forward Jordan DePape continued his scoring prowess with another multi-point game to complete the 2015-16 conference regular season with 19 goals and 22 assists while playing in all 28 conference games. He was five points ahead of the second place scorer in the conference.

DePape, 23, has had a record-breaking 2015-16 season so far as co-captain with Manitoba. This season, the Winnipeg native was first in conference with 19 goals; fourth in Canada West with 21 assists; tied for second in conference with six power play goals; tied for second with three game-winning goals and second in Canada West with 120 shots on goal.

In addition, the Arts student-athlete had a conference-high 15 game point streak (started on Oct. 25/15 to Jan. 16/16); tied for conference-high seven game assists streak (Nov. 20/15 to Jan. 15/16); tied for second highest conference goal streak at five games (Jan. 23/16 to Feb. 6/16). Plus, DePape was selected Canada West Male First Star of the Week for the week ending Jan. 10/16 and selected Canada West Male Third Star of the Week for the week ending Nov. 1/15 and had 12 multi-points games in 2015-16 Canada West season (4 in Oct.; 3 in Nov.; 3 in Jan.; 2 in Feb.).

Other accolades so far for DePape while at Manitoba include being selected as one of six Canada West players to be part of a two-game exhibition series between CIS men's hockey all-stars and Canada's National Junior Team prospects that was played on Dec. 12-13/15 and DePape was named as a 2014-15 Canada West Men's Hockey Student-Athlete Community Service award winner.

At the completion of the 2015-16 Canada West conference men's hockey regular season, the Manitoba Bisons finished fourth in the Canada West standings with a 13-13-2 record and now will host the fifth place Calgary Dinos (12-12-4) in the Canada West Quarter Final best-of-three playoff series on the February 19-21 weekend. The best-of-three playoff series starts on Friday, February 19 with a start time of 7 p.m. CT for game one then game two on Saturday, February 20 at 7 p.m. CT and, if necessary, game three will be play on Sunday, February 21 at 3 p.m. CT. All playoff contests will be played at the Wayne Fleming Arena at the Max Bell Centre.

Until Jordan DePape now in 2015-16 season (19-22=41), no Manitoba Bisons player had led Canada West Men's Hockey in scoring since 1985-86 when Canada West Hockey and GPAC merged
