Men's basketball head coach
Kirby Schepp is pleased to announce the commitment of the province's best big man, in 6'9", 248-pound center and forward Ethan Wiebe.
A graduating all-star and AAA Male Player of the Year, Wiebe averaged 24 points and 15 rebounds per game for the Garden Valley Zodiacs in Winkler, Manitoba. He added four assists and six blocks per game as a two-way force for a Zodiacs squad that advanced to the AAA final, with Wiebe being named a tournament all-star.
"After a dominant high school career at Garden Valley, we are excited to add the top 2025 big man in Manitoba," said Schepp.
"We are confident Ethan will be a great addition to our program. He combines great size and skill that will make him a big part of our program. His ability to rebound, score inside and stretch the floor with his shooting are an ideal fit for our team."
"I am very excited for this opportunity and all the other experiences that will come with it," added Wiebe.
"I would like to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, my parents, plus all the other friends and family that supported me along the way -- all the amazing teammates and coaches through the years, especially Danny Friesen and Nick Friesen. I wouldn't be here without the time and energy they sacrificed for me."
