Box Score The #9 University of Manitoba men's volleyball team was looking for a win on Saturday, January 18 at Investors Group Athletic Centre. Unfortunately for the Bisons, they could not pull one out. Mount Royal took them in three sets after beating them in four the night before. The final score was 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-15).

Cougar Colton deMan got the game-high of 14 kills and was followed for his team by Jordan Lantz with eight. Bisons
Kevin Falconer and
Devren Dear were on-point with 11 kills each.

 "It's just execution, just getting out of the holes and giving them the chances they need to score points," said Bisons head coach Cam Johnson.

Mount Royal started the first set strong but two blocks in a row from Bisons
Devren Dear and
Kenny Rooney brought Manitoba in front to 7-6. From there is was a quick back and forth tying nine times until the Cougars widened the gap enough to take the set 25-22. Mount Royal's Colton deMan led the set with six kills, followed by
Devren Dear and
Kevin Falconer both with five.

The second set was more decisive as the Cougars pulled in front quickly and held their lead by a wide margin, staying as many as seven points ahead of the Bisons throughout. Â The Cougars similarly dominated the third set.

Mount Royal improves to 8-8 while the Bisons drop to 6-10.

Manitoba will play at Regina next weekend against the Regina Cougars for two game series January 24 and 25.
