The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today are pleased to announce that University of Manitoba Bisons quarterback Jordan Yantz will participate in the club's training camp for 2014.
Jordan Yantz, 24, completed a highly successful first year with the Bisons (fourth year eligibility) and was named as a Canada West conference all-star in 2013. The Regina native finished first in conference passing (fourth in CIS) with 2,474 and first in the whole CIS with 25 touchdown passes and threw for a 57.5 passing percentage (145-252). In addition, the 6'1", 213 lbs. quarterback was also eighth in Canada West rushing with 396 yards while starter in all eight games in the 2013 regular season and two playoff games. 
Yantz also participated in the 2014 East West Bowl earlier in May 2014 for the West roster, a game that showcases some of the CIS' best football players.
Prior to the Bisons, Yantz was awarded the 2012 Wally Buono Award. The Wally Buono Award was established in 2003 for the purpose of recognizing Canada's top junior football player. 
Yantz set numerous records at the quarterback position during the 2012 season with the Vancouver Island Raiders. The Regina native was named the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) Most Outstanding Offensive Player (the Peter Dalla Riva award) in the 2012 season after compiling CJFL leading stats: 175 completions, 263 attempts, 66.5% completion rate, 3243 passing yards, 33 TD passes, only 7 INTs plus QB efficiency rating of 137.4% in ten regular season games. He set a new CJFL single season passing record at 3243 yards in 2012 plus was named the 2012 British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year – unanimous selection – while being selected as 2012 CJFL All-Canadian Quarterback and unanimous selection for the 2012 BCFC All-Star Team.
Before the Raiders, Yantz played with Winston Knoll Collegiate from 2004-08 and was named Outstanding Offensive Player in 2007.
