Box Score WINNIPEG - Saturday afternoon January 10, 2015, the Manitoba Bisons beat the Lethbridge Pronghorns 6-0 in men's hockey team at Wayne Fleming Arena.
 
With the victory Manitoba sweeps the two game series against Lethbridge improving the Bisons' record to 11-11-0 while the Pronghorns' record drops to 4-18-0.
 
"It's so tight between us UBC and Saskatchewan so these points were huge for us." Bisons' head coach Mike Sirant said.
 
It was 10 minutes into the first period before the Bisons opened the scoring when defenseman Brock Sutherland scored his second goal of the year glove side on Pronghorns' goalie Warren Shymko. The scoring continued for the home team when on the power play fourth year forward Aaron Lewadniuk scored his seventh goal of the season to give the Bisons a two goal lead. With four minutes left in the period Bisons' rookie defenseman Josh Elmes scored to make it a three-goal game and before the period came to a close Bisons' forward Jordan DePape would score his team leading 11^th goal of the season.
 
The second period the game started with a change in goal for the Pronghorns. After letting in four goals on 11 shots Symko was benched in favor of Damien Ketlo who started off the period well stopping Bisons' forward Daniel Fainman on a breakaway. But the rest of the period wasn't as kind to Ketlo as Bisons' defenseman Luke Paulsen and forward Taylor Dickin would each score a goal to make the score 6-0 in favor of Manitoba.
 
In the third period neither team was able to score a goal, which meant that Bisons' starting goalie, Byron Spriggs had completed the 25 save shutout.
 
"(Spriggs) looked confident and comfortable," Said Sirant, "he was really great handling the puck out there and controlling the routine shots making it easy for the defense."
 
The Bisons' Special team shone in this game. The Bisons were a perfect 5/5 on the penalty kill and an impressive 3/5 on the power play.
 
"The penalty killing was key in turning the momentum of the game." Sirant said, "I didn't think we had a real good start to the game and then we took a penalty, killed it off and scored right after. The power play scored some really well executed goals that were really nice to watch."
 
The Bisons play their next game Friday, January 16 in Regina against the Cougars at 7 p.m. CST.
