Caleigh Dobie and Sarah Klassen named as Bison women’s volleyball team co-captains for 2015-16 season

Both are first time captain while Kalena Schulz and Tori Studler named junior captains

The Bison women's volleyball team is proud to announce the team co-captains for the 2015-16 season. Libero Caleigh Dobie and middle hitter Sarah Klassen are captains for the Bison women's volleyball team for the upcoming season. In addition, Kalena Schulz and Tori Studler have been named as junior captains.

This is the first time as Bison captains for all four players.

Bison women's volleyball head coach Ken Bentley, in his 30th season, commented, "Both Sarah and Caleigh have been instrumental leaders within our team and in the community.  They lead by example both in the classroom and on the court, and they are a privilege to coach. I am also pleased to see our team recognize the emerging leadership qualities of Kalena and Tori as they begin to establish their place in our program for the coming years.  They will do an excellent job for our team as they learn from our senior captains about the responsibilities of leadership within our team."

Dobie, 21, is in her fourth year of eligibility with the Bisons. In her third season, the 5'8" defensive specialist was first in Canada West with 4.16 digs per set while third in conference and fourth in CIS with 358 digs in 22 matches. Klassen was part of the 2013-14 CIS national championship team with Manitoba and fourth on team last season with 108 kills.

Schulz, 19, is in her second year of eligibility at Manitoba. In her rookie campaign, the 5'10" left side hitter was third on the team with 136 kills while playing in all sets (93) and matches (24) in the 2014-15 conference regular season.
