Manitoba is on a three game win streak and second of two meetings between the two teams in conference regular season after Manitoba beat Alberta 42-32 on Fri., Sept. 25

The #8 Manitoba Bisons (4-2) seeks to extend their three game conference winning streak as they play final regular season home game of 2015 against the Alberta Golden Bears (2-4) on Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m. CT at Investors Group Field at U of Manitoba campus. The game will be available via stream on umfm.com website.

Manitoba and Alberta play twice during the conference regular season in 2015 and met earlier in week four with the Bisons winning 42-32 at Alberta on Fri., Sept. 25.

The Bisons started the season by playing CIS Top 10 ranked teams in the first three weeks of the year. They defeated then #8 Saskatchewan on the road to start the 2015 campaign with a 34-28 road victory on Fri., Sept. 4 then lost 46-38 to then #2 Calgary in the home opener on Fri., Sept. 11 and also lost to then #10 UBC at home by a 51-48 result on Sat., Sept. 19. In week four on the road, the Herd won 42-32 at Alberta on Sept. 25 and in a back-to-back, home and away series against Regina, the Herd swept the Rams with scores of 34-19 at home (Oct. 2) and 49-46 win at Regina (Oct. 17).

Manitoba has made the CIS Top 10 all eight weeks and now sits at number eight this week while Alberta is not ranked this week. The Bears have lost four in a row and are coming off a 54-10 loss at #9 UBC on Oct. 17. Manitoba last won vs. Alberta at home was in 2013.

Last season, Manitoba played Alberta once and lost 38-31 on the road in week five, before making it to the Uteck Bowl (CIS semi-final) appearance. In the 2014 season, Manitoba went 4-4 in the regular season (third in Canada West) and was a conference champion after two playoff road wins while Alberta went 3-5 for fifth in conference standings and did not qualify for the playoffs.

Over Brian Dobie's tenure with Manitoba (20 seasons), the Bisons have a 13-13-1 record against the Bears and 7-6 mark at home during the conference regular season.

In Canada West individual stats, Bison QB Theo Deezar is second with 2,227 passing yards and first with 17 passing touchdowns. Running back/kick returner Jamel Lyles is first in all-purpose yards with 1,271; second in punt return yards with 299, fourth in kickoff yards at 332 plus fourth in rushing yards at 544.
