The Bison volleyball teams continue their 2015-16 conference regular season as they travel to play at top ranked Alberta in a weekend series on November 20-21. On Friday night, the women's match will be at 7 p.m. CT and the men's is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT while on Saturday, matches starts at 6 p.m. for men and 7:30 p.m. for women.
The #3 Bison men's volleyball team (8-0) is in a tie for first place with #2 Alberta Golden Bears also at 8-0 mark. Manitoba has won five matches in three set sweeps and also won two fifth setters.
In conference stats, the Bison men's team is second in hitting percentage at .333, second in assists at 13.17 per set, eighth in conference kills at 13.90, fourth in blocks at 2.33 per set, eighth in service aces at 1.17 and fourth in conference digs at 9.38. Individually, Adam DeJonckheere is ninth and Devren Dear is tenth in kills per set at 3.72 and 3.58 plus also ninth and tenth in points per set at 4.1 and 4.1. DeJonckheere is fourth in Canada West in hitting percentage at .342. Luke Herr is second in Canada West with 11.62 assists per set plus while Kevin Falconer is tied for third with 0.38 service aces per set. Josh Crellin is eighth in blocks per set at 1.03 while Alex Strachan sits fifth in conference digs per set at 2.17.
The Bison women's volleyball team (1-7) is playing #1 Alberta Pandas as they hold a 8-0 record. The Bisons seek their first road match win of this season and have lost three five setters in the 2015-16 campaign.
In Canada West stats, the Bisons are 11th in hitting percentage at .113, 12th in assists at 9.18 per set, 12th in conference kills at 9.61, 11th in blocks at 1.55 per set, tenth in service aces at 1.52 and sixth in conference digs at 12.70. Individually, Jordana Milne is seventh in conference hitting percentage at .287 and 16th in conference kills per set at 2.58 while Sydney Purvis is 11th in Canada West in assists per set at 7.48. Caleigh Dobie is sixth in Canada West at 3.33 in digs per set.
