To start the 2015 season, the Bisons are ranked tenth in the first CIS poll while Saskatchewan is ranked number eight. The other Canada West teams ranked are Calgary at number four and UBC at number seven.
Last season, Manitoba played the Huskies three times and won twice. The Herd won 47-39 in the Canada West Semi-Final on Nov. 8 at Saskatchewan, en route to a Hardy Cup (conference championship). On Oct. 17, Manitoba won 41-8 at home while they lost 44-24 on the road on Sept. 5 to start the 2014 campaign.
In the 2014 season, Manitoba went 4-4 in the regular season (third in Canada West) and was a Canada West champion after two conference playoff road wins while Saskatchewan finished 6-2 (second in league) and then lost in the semis to the Herd.Â
Over Brian Dobie's tenure with Manitoba (19 seasons), the Bisons have a 14-14 record against the Huskies and 6-6 on the road during the conference regular season. Manitoba last won on the road in the regular season in Saskatchewan was 2013 (W 33-26 on Oct. 18).
This is the first road game of the season for Manitoba and the Herd does not play on the road again until Week 4 when they travel to play Alberta on September 25.
Manitoba and Saskatchewan will only play once during the conference regular season in 2015.
