#6 Bison Football host annual Homecoming Game against Regina in week five on Friday, October 2 with a 7 p.m. CT kickoff at Investors Group Field

This is the first of two meetings between the two teams in conference regular season

The #6 Manitoba Bisons (2-2) look to continue their winning ways as they host the annual Homecoming Game against the Regina Rams (0-4) on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. CT held at Investors Group Field.

Manitoba and Regina play twice during the conference regular season in 2015 and will again meet in Regina on Saturday, October 17 in week five.

The Bisons started the season by playing CIS Top 10 ranked teams in the first three weeks of the year. They defeated then #8 Saskatchewan on the road to start the 2015 campaign with a 34-28 road victory on Fri., Sept. 4 then lost 46-38 to then #2 Calgary in the home opener on Fri., Sept. 11 and also lost to then #10 UBC at home by a 51-48 result on Sat., Sept. 19. In week four on the road, the Herd won 42-32 at Alberta on Sept. 25.

Manitoba has made the CIS Top 10 all five weeks and now sits at number six this week while Regina has not been ranked so far this season. The Rams are seeking their first win of the season after losses to Alberta (L 29-22 on Sept. 4), at UBC (L 27-20 on Sept. 12), at Saskatchewan (L 33-18 on Sept. 18) and lost to Calgary (L 72-8 on Sept. 26).

Last season, Manitoba played Regina twice and split the season series (W 42-18 at Manitoba on Sept. 12/14; L 56-41 at Regina on Oct. 25/14), before making it to the Uteck Bowl (CIS semi-final) appearance. Manitoba last lost to Regina at home in 2011 was in the 2011 season. In the 2014 season, Manitoba went 4-4 in the regular season (third in Canada West) and was a conference champion after two playoff road wins while Regina went 3-5 and was fourth in conference standings and lost in conference semi-final.

Over Brian Dobie's tenure with Manitoba (19 seasons), the Bisons have a 15-11 record against the Rams and 10-3 at home during the conference regular season.

In Canada West individual stats, Bison QB Theo Deezar is second with 1,475 passing yards and first with ten passing touchdowns. Running back/kick returner Jamel Lyles is first in all-purpose yards with 1,021; first in punt return yards with 235, fourth in kickoff yards at 276 plus fourth in rushing yards at 416. Alex Vitt is third (446) and Jesse Walker is fifth (324) in receiving yards. Ryan Jones is tied for fifth with 38 conference points while Lyles is second in TDs with six. Evan Foster is tenth in Canada West with 22.5 total tackles plus both tied for third with 1.5 conference sacks.
