The Bison women's hockey team (4-0-0-0) continues the 2016-17 Canada West conference season by playing at home for the first time in regular season action as they host the Regina Cougars (2-1-1-0) on October 20-21 at the Wayne Fleming Arena (U of M Fort Garry campus). Puck drop versus the Cougars will be 7 p.m. CT on Thursday and Friday.
The Bisons are heading into the first two games at home in the regular season after a perfect start to the Canada West season with four consecutive wins on the road (two wins at Lethbridge and two wins at Mount Royal). The last time the Herd started a conference regular season with four wins was in the 2008-09 season.
The last time the Bisons played at home was on September 17, a total of 33 days since they skated in a game at the Wayne Fleming Arena.
Last season, the Bisons went 2-2 against Regina (Nov 28/15: W 1-0 at home; Nov. 27/15: L 2-1 at home; Oct. 10/15: L 3-2 on road; Oct. 9/15: W 3-1 on road).
Manitoba looks to improve their home record in the 2016-17 season. Last season, the Herd only went 6-8 at the Wayne Fleming Arena.

In Canada West goaltending stats, fourth year Rachel Dyck is first with a perfect 0.00 Goals Against Average as she registered two shutouts so far this season on 43 saves. Fourth year Amanda Schubert is fourth with 1.00 GAA and fifth with .931 Save Pct. and both are tied for third with two conference wins.
Bison Notes: In the 2015-16 season, the Bisons won the home opener game by a 2-1 score over Alberta on October 3, 2015 and then lost 4-0 the next night at home.
