Bison volleyball teams against Brandon in final conference regular season home games during February 12-13 weekend as men’s team CIS ranked number four

Bison men’s team with 16-4 record and have won ten of 11 home matches in 2015-16 and in third place in conference standing while women host Bobcats

The Bison volleyball teams play in their final conference regular season home games for 2015-16 as they host the Brandon Bobcats in a weekend series on February 12-13. On Friday night, the men's match will be at 6 p.m. CT and the women's is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT while on Saturday, matches starts at 3 p.m. for men and 4:30 p.m. for women.

The #4 Bison men's volleyball team (16-4) is in third place in Canada West standings and has won ten of 11 home matches so far this season. Manitoba have won four of last six matches so far in the second half and face the Bobcats (5-15) who are in tenth place in the 13 team conference standings with top seven making the playoffs.

In conference 2015-16 stats, the Bison men's team is second in hitting percentage at .316, second in assists at 12.58 per set, second in conference kills at 13.32, third in blocks at 2.53 per set, tenth in service aces at 0.95 and tied for eighth in conference digs at 9.47. Individually, Devren Dear is fourth and Adam DeJonckheere is 12th in kills per set at 4.47 and 3.26 plus in conference points, Dear in sixth at 326.0 and DeJonckheere is 13th with 276.0. DeJonckheere is sixth and Dear is seventh in Canada West in hitting percentage at .315 and .295. Luke Herr is second in Canada West with 11.01 assists per set. Ken Rooney is fifth and Josh Crellin is tied for 11th and in blocks per set at 1.03 and 0.97. 

The Bison women's volleyball team (2-18) is playing Brandon as the Bobcats hold a 11-9 record and sixth in conference. The Bisons seek their second home match win of this 2015-16 season. On Sat., Bison fifth year setter Sydney Purvis will be recognized. 

In Canada West stats, the Bisons are 12th in hitting percentage at .113, 12th in assists at 8.86 per set, 12th in conference kills at 9.23, 12th in blocks at 1.62 per set, 12th in service aces at 1.52 and seventh in conference digs at 13.04. Individually, Sydney Booker is 11th and Sydney Purvis is 13th in assists per set with 7.00 and 6.05. Caleigh Dobie is ninth in Canada West at 3.09 in digs per set. Sarah Klassen is 14th in blocks per set at 0.87.

Bison Notes: The Bison men's volleyball teams have clinched a playoff spot and have a chance to host a playoff round if they remain in Top 4 in Canada West standings. Manitoba plays at Calgary on Feb. 19-20 on the road.
