The Bison basketball teams play their final regular season games of the 2017-18 Canada West conference regular season by travelling to play the Fraser Valley Cascades on February 2-3. On Friday, the women's game will be at 8 p.m. CT and the men's game is scheduled for 10 p.m. CT while on Saturday, women's start at 7 p.m. CT and men's at 9 p.m. CT. The Bison women's basketball team (8-10) seeks to make playoffs for the first time since the 2008-09 season as they play against T-12th place Fraser Valley (7-11). The Top 12 teams qualify for the CW playoffs. The top 12 teams are then ranked 1 to 12 based on each team's Rating Percentage Index (RPI) standing. Manitoba is 11th in CW standings and RPI rankings. Manitoba did not play the Cascades last season and the last time they have met in conference regular season action was in 2013-14 and the Bisons lost 85-68 (Jan. 11/14) at home.Â
In this conference women's basketball season, the Bisons are eighth in scoring offence at 69.8 points per game and 11th in scoring defence at 71.2 points per game. In 3-point percentage, Manitoba is sixth at 30.8% and 13th in field goal percentage at 37.5%. In free throw percentage, the Herd is 14th at 64.7. In Canada West rebounds, the Bisons are sixth at 41.5 per game, tied for eighth in steals per game 8.6, fourth in assists per game at 14.2 and first with 4.2 blocks per game.Â
Individually, Taylor Randall is tied for ninth in conference scoring with 16.8 points per game, 20th with 29.6 minutes per game, seventh in foul shooting at 82.8%, sixth with 2.5 steals per game and T-4th with 3.5 assists per game. Nicole Konieczny is second in team scoring and 23rd in conference scoring with 12.8 points per game, 13th in CW minutes with 30.9, T-14th with 1.8 steals per game and 16th in rebounds per game at 7.6. Lana Mackic is seventh in field goal percentage at 48.7% and ninth with 0.8 blocks per game. Emma Thompson is eighth in 3-point Canada West shooting percentage with 36.8% and 19th n CW minutes played at 29.8 per game. Claire Harvey is first in blocks per game at 2.1.

Manitoba did not play the Cascades last season but did met them in 2016 playoffs when Bison won 2-0 in Canada West MBB Quarter final best-of-three series sand the last time they have met in conference regular season action was in 2013-14 and the Bisons lost 84-83 (Jan. 11/14) at home.Â

In Canada West minutes played, Alleyn is second at 36.0, Rashawn Browne is fifth at 34.9 while Wagner is sixth with 34.6. Alleyn is fifth at 44.0% while Brown is tenth at 41.3 and Wagner is 12th at 40.5% in 3-point percentage. In rebounds per game, Wagner is T-8th with 7.8. Browne leads the conference in assists per game at 7.0. Alleyn is T-11th with 1.8 steals per game plus in blocker per game, Wagner is tied for sixth with 1.1 and Cameron O'Hara is tenth at 0.6 CW blocks per game.
