This morning, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the signing of local offensive lineman
Geoff Gray. The 6'6", 310-pounder was originally selected eighth overall in the 2017 CFL Draft, but spent the past season in the NFL, originally signing with Green Bay before spending time with the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns.
Gray was a mainstay up front for the Manitoba Bisons, playing in all 32 regular season games — 30 of which were starts — as well as six playoff games. The product of the Greendell Falcons Football Club suited up at both guard and tackle for Manitoba, demonstrating his versatility. He was a key member of the Hardy Cup-winning squad in 2014 and was a U SPORTS First-Team All-Star and the Canada West Outstanding Down Lineman of the Year in 2017. Gray was also a standout in the classroom, named a prestigious U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadian in 2016-17.
With the signing, Gray becomes the fourth Bison alum to join the Bombers, along with receiver
Nic Demski, running back
Kienan LaFrance and linebacker
Thomas Miles.
"We're really happy and proud to have Geoff back at home with our Winnipeg Blue Bombers," Bison football head coach
Brian Dobie said. "From our staff and players at Bison football, we can't wait to see him across the hall in the Blue and Gold locker room."
