Competing against other Western Canadian schools, the Bison swim teams found a few podium finishes in day one of the Odlum Brown College Cup – Pacific, hosted by UBC in Vancouver, British Columbia.
With the second and final day on tap, the Bison women are eighth in the team rankings (167 points), while the Bison men are in ninth (110 points).
Highlighting the day individually for Manitoba was
Kelsey Wog, as the third-year finished with first place finishes in the women's 50m and 200m breaststroke.
Wog blazed through the 50m breast in 31.03, setting a new meet record, surpassing her own mark of 31.22 set in last year's College Cup. Wog's 2:21.41 in the 200m was also a meet record, beating the previous mark (2:28.11, Tara Van Beilen – UBC) by almost seven seconds.
The Bison women's team had the other podium finish, as they came in second in the 200m relay.

Kelsey Wog,
Dora Modrcin, and
Alexandria Miko completed the relay in 1:54.96.
In other A-Final results, the Bison men finished 6
th in the 200m medley relay, as
Reid Glatz,
Chase Yanke,
Michael Lajoie, and
Alex Shogolev finished in 1:48.21. The men also finished 9
th in the 400m free relay, as Shogolev, Glatz, Lajoie, and
Andreas Cappelletto finished in 3:35.58. Shogolev finished 10
th in the men's 100m freestyle (52.58), while Glatz finished 10
th in the men's 50m butterfly (26.27).
For the women, second-year
Dora Modrcin finished fifth in the 100m backstroke (1:02.49) and the relay team finished fifth in the 400m free relay (3:55.60). Wog, Modrcin, Wickett, and
Taylor Shankaruk swam the legs for Manitoba.
The Odlum Brown College Cup concludes today, Sunday, November 4.
