Women's Volleyball

Bison women’s volleyball team play at No. 3 UBC Okanagan in Canada West quarter-final best-of-three playoff series on February 23-25

Game one on Friday at 8 p.m. CT with game two on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT and game three – if necessary – on Sunday at 6 p.m. CT; winner receives Nationals berth

The Bison women's volleyball team (12-12) earned their playoff berth on the final weekend of the 2017-18 Canada West regular season and now play at No. 3 UBC Okanagan Heat (19-5) in Canada West quarter-final best-of-three playoff series on February 23-25 weekend. Games will be live on canadawest.tv (fee req'd).

Manitoba finished the regular season in sixth place while UBC Okanagan was third in conference standings. The best-of-three playoff series commences on Friday, February 23 with a start time of 8 p.m. CT for game one. Game two is on Saturday, February 24 at 7 p.m. CT and game three, if necessary, will be played on Sunday February 25 at 6 p.m. CT. All playoff matches played at UBC O (Kelowna, BC). Winner of series earns a U SPORTS National Championships berth.

During this season, Manitoba and UBC Okanagan played twice at Manitoba and split the regular season series as the Herd lost 3-1 (Feb. 16/18) and won 3-1 (Feb. 17/18).

Both teams faced off in the 2015 playoffs in the CW quarter-final best-of-three series at UBC Okanagan as the Bisons lost 2-0 in games on Feb. 13-14/15. This the second post-season meeting since the Heat entered Canada West in 2012-13 season.

Manitoba won four of last six conference regular season games heading into the playoffs and went 5-6 on the road in the 2017-18 conference regular season.

In Canada West 2017-18 final stats, the Bisons were ninth in hitting percentage at .164, sixth in conference kills per set at 11.47, sixth in assists at 10.72 per set, fifth in blocks at 2.29 per set, 13th in service aces at 1.39 and first in conference digs at 17.06.

Individually in 2017-18 CW regular season stats, in kills, Kearley Abbott was ninth at 317. Brittany Habing finished seventh in assists with 788. Cassie Bujan was second in digs at 410 and Habing ended up 11th at 266. Emily Erickson was eighth in total blocks with 94 while Kearley Abbott was eighth in points at 370.0.
