It's a battle for Winnipeg university supremacy, and it returns this week as the University of Manitoba Bisons face the University of Winnipeg Wesmen in men's and women's basketball and volleyball.

The winner retains the Duckworth Challenge Trophy, as Manitoba tries to take it back for the first time since 2016-17.

For the 29^th year, Manitoba will host the basketball portion of the competition on Thursday, November 21 at Investors Group Athletic Centre (IGAC). The women take the court at 6 PM while the men play each other at 8 PM. Students of both universities get in free and the atmosphere is always raucous — so be there and make sure your Bison Pride is heard!

The Bisons are already up 1-0 in the five-part challenge after winning in women's soccer back in October. The final part of the Challenge takes place downtown at the Duckworth Centre, as men's and women's volleyball play on Friday.
That rivalry continues Saturday at IGAC, though, as the Wesmen and Bisons meet again to finish their weekend series.

There's more than just a trophy at stake this month between the two schools, as both men's volleyball teams have thrown out the razors to raise money for Movember. At Saturday's matches — men at 6 PM, women at 7:45 PM — fans young and old will get to join the fun with plastic moustaches, as we raise awareness for men's health issues through this awesome cause.

UM Students get in free!
All year, all UM students get into all Bisons home games for free with their student ID. Single game tickets can be bought on game days at the door. Kids under 12, and junior basketball and volleyball players are free with pre-registration and a jersey. UW students also get in free for the games above.
