WINNIPEG — Saturday was the final day of the 2019 U SPORTS Odlum Brown Swimming Championships, hosted by the University of British Columbia, and Bison third-year swimmer finished an outstanding meet in style.

Wog, 20, won the 200-metre breaststroke and set a new U SPORTS record in the process (2:25.50). It was the Winnipeg native's fourth gold medal of the meet, her best performance yet as a Bison student-athlete.

On top of today's win in the 200-metre breaststroke, Wog swept the other individual breaststroke events — winning the 50-metre on Thursday (31.80) and the 100-metre on Friday (1:06.84). She also placed first in the 200-metre individual medley (2:13.98).

The four gold medals are a new best for Wog, earning her U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian recognition. It's a mark that improves on a three gold (50m, 100m, 200m breaststroke) and one silver (200m IM) performance at the 2018 U SPORTS Championships.

In the final team standings, the Bison women's team finished 14^th with 192.5 points while the men finished 15^th with 65 points.

Also performing well for the Bison women was second-year Dora Modrcin, who had a fifth-place finish in the 50-metre backstroke (28.13). Modrcin also finished 15^th in the 100-metre butterfly (56.95)

Bison highlights at nationals on the men's side included fourth-year Anthony Iliouchetchev, who finished fourth in the 50-metre backstroke. Iliouchetchev also finished ninth in the 100-metre backstroke on Thursday.

First-year Reid Glatz had his best finish in the 100-metre butterfly, placing 20^th (56.95). Glatz also finished 21^st in the 200-metre butterfly (2:07.69) and the 100-metre backstroke (59.75).

"I am pleased with the individual performance of our swimmers," said Bisons head coach Vlastimil Cerny. "Kelsey's four gold medals is a first for the swim team and an outstanding accomplishment. Tony and Dora repeating finals performances from last year was a success and rookie Reid racing to lifetime bests was a great start to his U SPORTS career."
