KAMLOOPS, BC – For the second straight night at Tournament Capital Center, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack (12-4) beat the Manitoba Bisons (2-14) in straight sets, extending their win streak to three matches (25-22, 25-13, 25-18).
Bright spots for Manitoba included an outstanding performance from first-year middle Jaidyn Spencer, who tied for the team lead with a career-high seven kills. Allison Alcock also had seven out of the middle for the Herd.
Fifth-year Sydney Booker had 16 assists, a service ace, and four digs out of the setter position.
"Every part of our game I was happy with," said Bisons head coach Ken Bentley. "They're just a big, strong team so when we're out of system a lot, it's tough for us to score points."
TRU got a great three sets from second-year Olga Savenchuk, who improved on her Friday numbers for 18 kills in 28 swings with two assists, four digs, and three block assists. The Canada West First Team All-Star was supported by fifth-year Kendra Finch, who had 11 kills in 27 opportunities.
The Bisons women return home next weekend, as they take on the UBC Thunderbirds on January 17 and 18 at IGAC.
