This Friday and Saturday, your University of Manitoba Bisons volleyball teams own the stage in their last regular season weekend.
Playing at Investors Group Athletic Centre against the Saskatchewan Huskies, don't miss special ceremonies all weekend long as we celebrate our graduating athletes as well as men's volleyball head coach
Garth Pischke, who will retire after an incredible 39 years at the end of the season.
On Friday evening, there will be a pre-game ceremony for Pischke, the winningest coach in North American university sport, as we look back on moments in his career as a coach and player as well as hear from Bisons alumni who he influenced.
Then, on Saturday, we celebrate the careers of graduating athletes
Kevin Negus from men's volleyball and
Allison Alcock,
Sydney Booker, and
Laura Findlay from women's volleyball — who all compete in their last regular season home game.
On Friday, the women play at 6 PM with the men following at 7:45 PM. On Saturday, the men begin proceedings at 6 PM with the women following at 7:45 PM.
These are also meaningful games in the standings for Bisons men's volleyball, as they look to clinch a spot in the Canada West playoffs — which begin the following weekend from February 21-23.
