SASKATOON — It took five sets, but the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women's recorded the weekend sweep over the Manitoba Bisons with a 3-2 win (25-21, 25-15, 11-25, 26-28, 15-11) at the Physical Activity Complex on Saturday.
Saskatchewan's Hannah Toews ended up recording the match-winning kill, one of three on the afternoon for the third-year outside hitter.
Alongside Toews, Mandi Fraser had a team-high 15 kills, as well as a game-high five blocks.
On the Manitoba side,
Keziah Hoeppner had a game-high 17 kills, while
Katreena Bentley had a game-high 53 assists.
In the end, Saskatchewan had a .262 hitting percentage in comparison to Manitoba's .187 clip, perhaps foreshadowing the match result.
The Huskies moved to 3-1 with the win, while Manitoba slid to 2-2.
Saskatchewan is back in action on Nov. 26, as they trek east for a pair of conference clashes against Winnipeg.
Meanwhile, Manitoba will also enjoy a bye week, before battling the Brandon Bobcats in a pair of conference clashes.
