LANGLEY -- Manitoba got depth scoring from
Codey Behun and
Zachary Patrick, while
Chase Hartje potted the game-winner for his fourth goal of the season, as the Manitoba Bisons won 3-2 over Trinity Western on Saturday night in a game that saw them score all three tallies in the second period.
Ross Hawryluk earned the win between the pipes after a 30-save performance, helping the Herd to their fourth victory in a row. The Bisons are also second in the conference in goals allowed after six games, at 22.Â
After giving up the game's opening goal in the first minute of the second, Manitoba pushed back with three unanswered.
Behun scored his first as a Bison on a one-timer 12 minutes into the frame, collecting a big rebound on a shot from
Mitchell Dyck. Two minutes later, Patrick gave his side the lead on a shot from the point, finishing off a one-timer from Behun on a play where Manitoba broke in on a three-on-two after chaos in the neutral zone.Â
The game-winner came from Hartje just under three minutes prior to period's end on the power play, as he fired home a one-timer from just inside the blue line. Hartje now has 12 points on the year, putting him fourth in the conference. Trinity added one in the third but it wasn't enough.
