The Mount Royal University Cougars men's hockey team completed the weekend sweep against the University of Manitoba Bisons on Saturday afternoon at Flames Community Arena with a 7-0 win. The game was blown wide open in the second period, as the Cougars scored four goals in 15 minutes.

Ross Hawryluk and
Simon Harkness combined for 36 saves in the loss. Hawryluk kept it a one-goal game through 20, making 17 saves. He leads Canada West with 617 saves, while his .903 save percentage is fifth.

Connor Blake kicked of the scoring with a whistling one-timer on the powerplay. The goal extends Blake's point streak to four games.

Riley Sawchuk added to his league leading goal count.
Nolan Yaremko made a perfect no-look pass from behind the net and Sawchuk quickly shot it past Bisons' goalie

Clayton Hanus blew the game wide open when he sniped his first goal as a Cougar to make it 3-0. The smooth-skating defenceman was playing in his fourth game with Mount Royal since joining the team during the holiday break. Hanus credits his teammates and the coaching staff to a seamless transition to Canada West hockey and university life.

Lane Gilliss scored a shorthanded goal and took a huge hit in the process but extended their lead to four. R
Riley Sawchuk got his second of the game off a perfect backhand pass from
Connor Bouchard. Sawchuk then completed the hat trick early in the third off another excellent feed from Bouchard.
Sawchuk return the favour when Bouchard got a goal of his own, with Sawchuk assisting. The duo combined for a total of seven points in today's game.
The Bisons are one point out of a playoff spot with a month left in the season. They're on the road this weekend, taking on UBC.
