For the second time this year,
Lena Klassen has earned Boston Pizza Athlete of the Week honours, while
Jonny Hooker gets the nod after helping the men's hockey team to their first win.
Klassen capped off a stellar first season with the Herd, finishing 42nd overall at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championships this past weekend, with a time of 30:32.3 in the 8k race.
She was the top Bison, and also the first freshman to cross the line, earning national recognition as Rookie of the Year, the first time a female has done so since Jennifer Ervick in 1998.
On the ice, sophomore captain
Jonny Hooker played a massive role in helping the men's hockey team to their first win of the season.
Down 2-0 with eight minutes gone in the third, Hooker wristed a beauty top shelf on the power play on a screen. The goal sparked three in a row overall for Manitoba, who earned the 3-2 victory.
Hooker has scored in five straight games, and seven in his last six. He's second in the conference with nine goals overall, and he's seventh in points, with 13.
