Bisons welcome Huskies to The 'Flem with critical points at stake

The Herd have points in three of their last four games.

Sitting just one point out of a top three spot in Canada West's East Division, the Manitoba Bisons welcome second seed Saskatchewan to town. The Huskies enter play with ten points, five ahead of Manitoba, having won each of their last five games against the Bisons.

The Herd have been rolling as of late, earning points in three of their last four games. They've been aided by a spectacular power play, which leads Canada West at an efficiency of 30.4 percent, with seven goals.

Three of those goals have come from captain Jonny Hooker, who also led the conference in power play tallies a year ago. Last year's leading point-getter is back at the top of the chart of the Herd, with eight points in his first six games. He's recieved lots of complementary scoring, including a team-leading six assists and eight points for centre Riley Stotts, a local standout who transferred from the Calgary Dinos program. He has points in each of his last four games.

Overall, eight different Bisons have at least four points this year, while 11 student-athletes have recorded a goal on the campaign. Skyler Bruce, a former WHL standout with over 200 games of experience at that level, leads Manitoba with four goals, including three in his last four contests as part of Manitoba's loaded power play.

On the other side, Dawson Holt and Chantz Petruic are both averaging at least a point per game, with 11 and seven respectively to lead their side. The Huskies also have the division's best penalty kill, at 86.7 percent, which should make for an interesting storyline on special teams.
