WINNIPEG -- Ten different Bisons reached the score sheet on Sunday afternoon at IGAC, as the Manitoba Bisons beat Brandon 79-64 to open their season at home. It's the second year in a row that the Herd have beaten Brandon (0-2) to open a Canada West campaign, and they've won 14 straight games against their provincial rival.
Manitoba never trailed in the win. The hosts opened up a lead of as much as 22, and led 52-36 at halftime. Brandon got a sensational showing from impact transfer Amaya McLeod (led all players with 24 points), along with point guard Piper Ingalls, however no other Bobcat scored more than six points.
McLeod used her strength and dribbling ability to drive inside often, getting to the free throw line 14 times, however she missed five of her attempts. Ingalls did most of her damage from deep, sinking five triples, but Manitoba held her to four points in the second half, including one-for-six from three point range.

Treyah Paquette are among those who will factor in when healthy), did a solid job defending Ingalls, finishing with two steals (tied for the team lead), eight points, three rebounds and one assist. Her points and rebound totals were both career highs, as were her 24 minutes played, which nearly tripled her personal best from last year's rookie season.
Harris was one of six different Bisons to record a three-pointer, while Brandon's only triples came from their top two scorers.

Hannah Olugbodi all had at least six points. Senior
Autumn Agar added massive performance in the fourth quarter, scoring five of her eight points, along with two blocks, two steals and ten rebounds.
Martin scored 13 of her 15 points in the second quarter, using her physicality and range to get on the score sheet in a variety of ways, including from distance. She tied for the team lead in points, alongside true freshman
Paige Schatkowsky, who put up eight of her 15 points in the third quarter.
Schatkowsky showed an early connection with fellow first-year
Darya Rom, who she previously played with on the provincial team. The latter scored six points in 14 minutes in her debut, four of which came during extended minutes alongside Schatkowsky, who finished with two assists.
It was a career day for many Bisons. Alongside Harris, Khan and Olugbodi also had notable personal bests.
Khan was just two points (eight overall) and one assist shy of a triple-double, with her nine total assists being a career-high, alongside her ten rebounds. Olugbodi, a redshirt freshman making her U SPORTS debut, had seven points to go with six rebounds in 15 minutes of action.
Manitoba plays Saskatchewan on the road this weekend to continue their season.
