Women's volleyball announce commitment of outside hitter Taylor Bugg

The North Battleford, SK product is a three-time high school provincial medalist.

The No. 3 nationally ranked Bisons women's volleyball team made a major splash in the recruiting game today, announcing the commitment of 5'11" outside hitter Taylor Bugg from John Paul II Collegiate. 

The North Battleford, SK product is a three-time high school provincial medalist at the Quad A level, and also earned bronze as part of Team Sask at the 2023 Canada Cup. 

Additionally, Bugg has been an honour roll student from 2019-2024, is a two-time Quad A High School Volleyball Sportsmanship Award recipient (2022-2023), and is a team captain for her high school. 

She also won a provincial silver in high school javelin in 2022 and is an assistant coach for Battleford Volleyball Club's 13U team. 

"I chose the University of Manitoba because of its amazing engineering and volleyball programs," she said. 

"I am especially excited to play with the women's volleyball team because of the team's strong, family-like culture.  I look forward to learning from this amazing group of girls both on the court and off the court as I strive to become a better player and teammate."
