Men's hockey announce commitment of veteran WHL goalie Braden Holt

Holt most recently played for the Victoria Royals in 2023-24, where he won the team's Unsung Hero award.

The men's hockey program added key depth at goalie this past week, announcing the commitment of WHL veteran Braden Holt. 

The 6'2", 163-pound Montana native most recently played for the Victoria Royals, where he won the team's Unsung Hero award in 2024. In 149 career WHL games split between the Royals and Everett Silvertips, Holt recorded 72 wins and eight shutouts.

Holt played in a career-high 47 games this past season, posting 21 wins. He consistent netminder who thrives in pressure situations, he also backstopped the Silvertips to a first-place finish in the Western Conference in 2021-22, with 24 wins and four shutouts in 37 appearances.

"Braden Holt is an elite goaltender that comes to us highly recommended," said Bisons head coach Gordon Burnett.

"We targeted Braden early in the recruiting process and are fortunate that he's chosen to become a Bison. We really like his abilities as a goaltender as well as his calm demeanor in net. We look forward to having Braden in the net next year for the Bisons."
