Sitting in second place in Canada West's East Division with 22 points, Manitoba welcomes Saskatchewan to town for the second of three weekend series during the 2024-25 season. Manitoba won both games between the two sides in 2024, out-scoring the Huskies 7-2 during the November 1-2 weekend on the road.
Six different Bisons recorded a goal in Manitoba's weekend sweep, including
Norah Collins, whose nine tallies on the year lead the Herd, and are third in Canada West. She's one goal away from becoming just the 14th player in school history to record ten goals in a conference season.
Manitoba's leading scorer
Aimee Patrick has also been on a tear this season. Her 14 points are a career-high, including four in the last three games. She's also netted points in six of the last nine contests, showcasing incredible chemistry with line-mates
Brenna Nicol and
Sadie Keller.
After a tough start to the season, Saskatchewan has been hot as of late, winning three of their last four games, including a 3-1 win over third place Regina. They're also undefeated against Manitoba at The 'Flem dating back to November of 2022.
Veteran forward Bronwyn Boucher scored the game-winner over the Cougars and has goals in two of her last three games. She also leads the Huskies with five goals and is tied for the team lead in points, with eight. Jayde Cadieux has added five points in her last five games, and is tied with Boucher for the team lead.
There are plenty of local connections on the Huskies roster as well. Four different members of the roster are from Manitoba, in Kahlen Wisener (Winnipeg, MB, Winnipeg Avros), Ava Bergman (Winnipeg, MB, Winnipeg Ice), Hallie Franklin (Deloraine, MB, Westman Wildcats), Julianna Herman (The Pas, MB, Saint Anselm Hawks).
