WINNIPEG – The No. 8 nationally ranked Alberta Pandas increased their win streak on ten on Saturday at IGAC, completing a weekend sweep with a 96-50 win over Manitoba. It's the nineth time in the last ten games that the U of A has given up less than 60 points in a contest. The Bisons fell to 5-9 but remain in a playoff spot.

Annacy Palmer scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the first seven minutes of the game, finishing with five triples overall on 50 percent shooting from the perimeter for the visitors. Jayden Tanner, Claire Signatovich and Reece Hall also finished in double figures for the Pandas.

Manitoba was led by 17 points from Anna Miko, and 12 from Emily Mandamin, while true freshmen Darya Rom and Paige Schatkowsky made their first career U SPORTS starts, playing 25 minutes each, with a combined 11 points and seven rebounds.

Alberta capitalized on some early miscues from the hosts, scoring 15 points off of 12 Bisons turnovers. Palmer added the range from Alberta with three triples in quick succession as the Pandas led by 18 after ten and didn't trail at any point.

Signatovich added another double-double to her school record, racking up a game-high 13 boards, while Alberta won the battle on the glass 49-30.

Manitoba scored a game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter, paced by two threes from Mandamin, who added two steals, along with Emerson Martin. But Alberta had the answer, finishing with 12 triples of their own in the game, with six different players hitting a shot from the perimeter.

Alberta sits in a three-way tie for first in Canada West's Prairie Division after the weekend, at 12-2. They face 12-2 Regina this coming weekend at home in a critical series, while Manitoba welcomes Winnipeg to town for the annual Duckworth Challenge.
