After a historic seventh consecutive playoff birth, five Bisons have been named 2025 Canada West Football All-Stars. Quarterback
Jackson Tachinski is a back-to-back all-star, while offensive lineman
Matt Stokman, defensive lineman
Jerome Fouillard, defensive back
Marcus Wahl and linebacker
Nic Pereira are first-time all-stars.Â
Tachinski becomes the first back-to-back Canada West All-Star at the pivot position since Shane Munson in 2001 and 2002. He threw for 1,007 passing yards and five scores, while rushing for 314 yards and six touchdowns. Tachinski's rushing total led all quarterbacks, and his 1,676 career rushing yards are the most all-time for any pivot in school history, as are his 24 rushing touchdowns, which are also the second-most in school history. Tachinski's 403 career regular season completions rank third in school history, and he is one of just three pivots with over 400 completions overall for the program.Â
Stokman, a CFL Draft pick of the Calgary Stampeders, earns his first conference all-star nod after helping the Bisons rush for a Canada West leading 1,486 yards on the ground. Stokman hasn't missed a start in any of the last four seasons, and he is a five-year starter on the offensive line overall. The Vincent Massey graduate also helped the Bisons to a program record 2,014 rushing yards as a team in 2024.Â
Fouillard earns conference recognition at the defensive line position in just his second year of eligibility. He set career highs in every key stat, including tackles (22.5), sacks (two) and pass breakups (three). He started every game for Manitoba, lining up in a hybrid linebacker position in certain 30 fronts while also coming off the edge.Â
Wahl is named a Canada West All-Star in his first season with the Bisons. The UND transfer immediately stepped into Manitoba's starting lineup at cornerback, covering the most dynamic receivers in the conference on a weekly basis while leading all Bisons defensive backs in tackles, with 26. His five pass breakups were the fifth-most in a season in school history.Â
Pereira started every game for Manitoba at the WILL linebacker spot, leading the team with 44.5 tackles, along with two forced fumbles and a pass breakup. A total of 39 of Pereira's tackles were solo, which ranked third in Canada West, and he is one of just 27 players in school history with over 100 career regular season tackles (106).
