Women's hockey host Saskatchewan in key East Division contest

The two teams are separated by just two points in the standings.

Six important points are on the line this weekend as Manitoba welcomes Saskatchewan to Wayne Fleming Arena for a pair of games. The two teams are separated by just two points in the standings, making for what will be a thrilling affair. Manitoba took three of four games against the U of S last season and will look to build upon that in 2025-26.

Manitoba took first place Mount Royal to overtime last weekend, and have showcased a balanced attack this year. Thirteen different Bisons have recorded a point this season, including Claire Moorman, Alyssa Rasmuson, Sara Harbus and Addison Vines, who have all found the score sheet for the first time as members of the Herd.

Aimee Patrick leads Manitoba with four points, and her 47 total points are 13th overall in school history. She's also just three shy of becoming just the 13th player in program history to reach 50 points as a member of the Herd.

Manitoba and Saskatchewan -- who have lost their last two games in overtime -- have also been stout on the penalty kill, operating at 87.5 percent, tied for first in Canada West's East Division. In a contest between two evenly matched squads, special teams could play a big factor.
