The Bisons women's hockey program added sensational depth to their goal tending unit today, announcing the commitment of Regina, SK native Cypress Classen.
A product of the Battlefords Sharks in the SHFL (AAA level), Classen collected a bevvy of accolades over the last two seasons, most recently earning First Team All-Star honours, along with being named Goalie of the Year. In 2023-24, Classen was the Sharks' Rookie of the Year, as well as Team MVP.
"We are excited to welcome Cypress to the Herd! Cypress has been an excellent athlete in her high school career. She has shown competitive spirit, drive and athleticism that will help her make an impact at the U SPORTS level," said head coach
Jordan Colliton, who begins her first season behind the Bisons' bench in 2025-26. "We look forward to seeing her develop and grow as a Bison."
Classen is coming off an outstanding 2024-25 campaign, where she posted a 15-3 record with three shutouts, a .946 save percentage and a 1.48 goals against average. In the classroom, she holds an academic average of 91 percent.
