Men's hockey announce commitment of Weyburn standout Ethan Dekay

The 5'10" centre recorded 58 points this past season with the Red Wings.

The Bisons men's hockey team added some offensive depth on Tuesday, announcing the commitment of centre Ethan Dekay. The 5'10", 170-pound Mississauga native recorded 58 points this past season, including 24 goals, for the Weyburn Red Wings in the SJHL.

He was named the team's Most Dedicated Player and Hardest Worker in 2025, and was also the Prairie Hockey Academy MVP in 2022 when he amassed 45 points in 35 games.

"Ethan is a former NCAA Division 1 commit of Michigan Tech. He has elite skating ability and speed and the ability to create offence single-handedly," said Bisons head coach Gordon Burnett.

"I'm super excited about the opportunity to play for the Bisons," Dekay added. "This is a pivotal moment for me to grow both as a person and player. Manitoba is a great school and I believe it will help me be successful. I want to thank everyone who helped me reach this goal. I'm really looking forward to playing alongside great players and meeting new people."
