London Hoilett

Men's Hockey Press Release

The Hoilett legacy continues: WHL veteran London signs with men's hockey

A veteran of 195 games in the WHL, and a point per game player in the MJHL last season, London is the son of Trevor Hoilett, who shone as a two-sport star in basketball and football for the Herd.

The Bisons men's hockey team added a key piece to their lineup today, announcing the commitment of 5'11", 187-pound forward London Hoilett. The 21-year-old WHL and MJHL veteran continues the Hoilett legacy at UM, following in the footsteps of his late father Trevor, who played basketball and football for the Herd. Trevor won a GPAC Championship, and CIAU bronze medal in 1985 as a member of the men's basketball team.

London, a Winnipeg native, is fresh off an MHJL season with Virden where he averaged over a point per game, with 58 points in 57 regular season contests, including 32 goals. Prior to that, Hoilett spent 195 games in the WHL between Calgary and Vancouver, combining for 44 points.

"London is a hard-working two-play forward who brings a strong compete level, plenty of energy and a physical presence to our lineup," said Bisons head coach Gordon Burnett.

London plays the game the right way and will make an impact in all areas of the ice."

Hoilett was also the 2022-23 Scholastic Player of the Year with the Calgary Hitmen, and the Hardest Working Player this past year for Virden. He also earned a Three Stars Award with the Oil Capitals.

In his free time, Hoilett is a musician. He writes, sings, produces and records Rnb music for Spotify and Apple Music under the name Ty Kiddo. His music has accumulated over 35,000 streams across a variety of streaming platforms in 123 countires.

"I am beyond excited to pursue my education at the University of Manitoba," he said. I'm looking forward to working alongside the players, coaches and staff on the Bisons men's hockey team. I can't wait to be a part of The Herd!"
