The Bisons women's hockey team continued to build for the future today, announcing their recruiting class for the 2026-27 season. Six standouts from across Canada will join the Herd, two from Winnipeg, two from Alberta, one from Ontario, and one from Saskatchewan. Four forwards make up the group, along with two defencemen.
"As a recruiting class, we are really excited to add these six pieces to our current core," said Bisons head coach Jordan Colliton, who led Manitoba to nationals in her first year with the program in 2025-26.
"They will be excellent additions, who will complement and elevate our group over the course of their U SPORTS careers. We look forward to developing all of them into making an impact with the brown and gold."
Addilyn Nohlgren is a 5'7" forward from Winnipeg who played for the Winnipeg Avros and Eastman Selects at the U18 AAA level. Nohlgren also suited up for Team Manitoba in 2025.
A member of the 100-point club, Nohlgren captained the Avros in 2025-26, and racked up 70 points in 70 games in 2024-25. She was also a Manitoba Female Hockey League (MFHL) Second Team All-Star in 2024-25, along with receiving the Avros' Hardest Worker Award.
"Addi is a very well-rounded 200-foot player with a high hockey IQ," said Colliton. "She is a great leader with excellent vision and elite play-making ability, and we look forward to the impact she will make both offensively and defensively for our group."
Brynn Hannula is a 5'6" center from Thunder Bay, ON who's played for the Thunder Bay Queens and Lovell Academy U19 in the United States. With the Queens, Hannula was MVP in 2019-20 and 2021-22. She also received the Most Offensive Forward Award in 2022-23.
Over the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, Hannula
 combined to score 77 points, and she was also Lovell Academy U19's Most Defensive Forward in 2024-25. In the classroom, Hannula has been an honour student every year, and she received the Oral French Immersion Award in 2022.Â
"Brynn is a 200-foot player with an extremely high compete level," said Colliton. "It was clear from our first conversation that she is going to push herself and our team to be their very best. We can't wait to see the impact she will have on our group."
Braya Kapusta is a 5'3" forward from Winnipeg with a breadth of hockey experience that includes the Winnipeg Avros and Dakota Lancers (Grade 12), RHA Winnipeg (Grade 11), the Balmoral Hall Blazers (Grades 9-10) and Team Manitoba Indigenous (Grades 9-12).
An honour roll student, Kapusta had a particularly impactful 2025-26 campaign. She was named captain for Team Manitoba, and was also the Avros' leading scorer with 46 goals and 24 assists. At the high school level, Kapusta was the WHSHL league MVP and top scorer.Â
"It is very hard to find natural scorers, and Braya is an exceptional goal scorer," noted Colliton. "She knows how to take advantage of other team's mistakes, and we are excited to help her develop over her U SPORTS career."
Addison Greve is a 5'4" forward from Weyburn, SK who's suited up for the Regina Rebels (2022-24), Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (2024-25) and Mount Academy Saints (2025-26). She's also represented Team Saskatchewan from 2023-25 and was an Esso Cup National Champion with the Rebels in 2024 and bronze medalist in 2023.Â
Greve -- an honour roll student who won the Biology Proficiency Award in 2025 -- was Mount Academy's Team MVP this past year, as well as a U18 AAA Second Team All-Star with the Rebels in 2024. Between the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons with Regina, she combined to score 60 points.
"Addi is the definition of an offensive threat," said Colliton. "She can score, make elite plays and has shown an ability to produce at every level. An excellent competitor, we are very excited to have her be a part of our program."
Kadence Fleece is a 5'8" defenceman from Calgary, AB who's played for the Calgary Fire (Red, AAA, 2024-26, White, AA, 2023-24), and the GHC Junior Inferno (2021-23).Â
An honour roll student every year of high school, she has over 65 games of experience at the AAA level, and has recorded ten penalty minutes or less over each of the last two campaigns, while recording 14 points over the last three seasons.Â
"Kadie is a very smart defenceman who can deny in all areas of the ice, making her very difficult to play against," added Colliton. "She continues to develop year after year and never settles. It's infectious. We are excited to work with her and look forward to her continuing to push our program forward to an elite level."
Jamie Hensch is a 5'6" defenceman from Grande Prairie, AB who's played for the Peace Country Storm (AA, 2021-23) and Lloydminster Steelers (U18 AAA, 2023-26).Â
Hensch was Peace Country's Rookie of the Year in 2021-22, as well as the Top Defender and Team MVP in 2022-23. Over three seasons at the AAA level, Hensch -- also an honour roll student --Â recorded 16 points, and was named the Steelers' Top Defender in 2025-26.Â
"We are excited to add Jamie to our D core. She is an excellent defender who's very hard to play against, and can make opponents pay," said Colliton. "She is an exceptional leader on and off the ice, and we look forward to seeing her in the brown and gold."
