JUNIOR BISON TRACK & FIELD PROGRAM
Spring 2020
 
The University of Manitoba Bison Track & Field Program is excited to continue to offer our Junior Bison Track & Field program for male and female athletes ages 11-15!!
 
Program Description:
Learn the basics of track and field, from warmups to cool downs and everything in between, including using the blocks, sprint mechanics, long jump, shot put, middle distance pacing and more!

The Coaches:
The program will be developed by Alex Gardiner and will be executed by our University of Manitoba Bison Track and Field Assistant Coaches, current athletes and alumni. 
 
Alex Gardiner Biography:
-Lead Bison Sports Speed and Power Coach; currently working with Bison Track and Field, Football, Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Hockey.
-Professional and International Sport; CFL, NFL athletes  (Miles, Demski, Onyamata, Gray), Bailey Bram, Jenelle Kohanchuk -Hockey Canada and several other sports
-Head Coach, Olympic Program Athletics Canada 2004-2012.
-Sr. Director Competitive Intelligence, Canadian Olympic Committee (2006 Turin, 2008 Beijing)

Program Dates:
April 26-June 6, 2020 (6 week session)
 
Program Times:
Wednesdays    6:30-7:30pm
&
Saturdays         2:00-3:00pm
 
Ages;
11-15 years old
 
Cost:
$435 (This includes the 12 1 hour sessions, outdoor track use, coaching fees,  Athletics MB fees, track meet entry fees, insurance fees, and administration costs).
**If you are new to our club you will also be required to purchase the racing shirt and shorts in order to compete in the track meets for approx. $50
 
Capacity:
We need a minimum of 6 athletes to run this program-Register early to ensure your spot!
