Entering his 8th season as an assistant coach at the University of Manitoba, Donny Hayes has contributed to one of the most successful stretches in program history, helping the Bisons achieve record-setting win totals and multiple playoff appearances in recent years. Serving as the team’s recruiting coordinator for the past four years, Hayes has played a key role in identifying, evaluating, and developing top talent from across Canada and around the world, while also helping build valuable recruiting relationships in both the United States and Australia. His efforts have strengthened the program’s reach and competitiveness, ensuring the Bisons continue to attract high character student-athletes who embody the team’s culture of discipline and accountability.

Hayes’ approach emphasizes player development, team chemistry, and the importance of building relationships that extend beyond the court. His ongoing dedication reflects his commitment to the program, to the student-athletes, and to the University of Manitoba.
