Elijah Lostracco

Elijah Lostracco joined the men's basketball coaching staff in 2024 following a successful collegiate and professional playing career.

Lostracco began his post-secondary career at the CCAA level with Redeemer University, where he earned Rookie of the Year honours. After three seasons he transferred to the University of Manitoba Bisons men’s basketball program. During his time with the Bisons, he distinguished himself both academically and athletically, earning Academic All-Canadian recognition on three occasions. In his final year he helped lead the team to a program best 18-2 regular season record.

Following his collegiate career, Lostracco continued professionally in the North American Basketball Super League. This experience further shaped his approach to player development, performance, and team culture. Now serving as Associate Head Coach with the University of Manitoba men’s basketball program, Lostracco has also contributed extensively to athlete development at the provincial and international levels.

He has served as an assistant coach with Basketball Manitoba at both the U14 and U17 provincial team levels and has worked as Head Coach for Canadian EuroBasket professional tours, helping guide and support athletes competing internationally. He is also heavily involved in the Jr. Bisons basketball program, coaching the 2011 boys and overseeing various teams within the club.

Lostracco holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology and brings a strong background in strength and conditioning to his coaching role. His approach emphasizes player development through competitive training environments and game-based learning, with a focus on decision-making, skill application, and long-term athlete growth both on and off the court.
