Ryan Bonni had an extensive playing career at the NHL, AHL, international and various other pro leagues. He was drafted 34th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1997 NHL Draft. He made th NHL and played games with the Canucks and Maple Leafs. 

He also represented and played for Team Canada in the Spengler Cup, Lotto Cup and Swiss Challenge. Bonni also spent parts of seven seasons in the AHL, including with the Manitoba Moose. Beginning his professional career he played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Saskatoon Blades and the Red Deer Rebels, recording 102 points (26 goals, 76 assists) and 649 penalty minutes in 235 games played. 

The River East native is now going into his tenth season as assistant coach with the University of Manitoba Bisons.
