Christie was a former player for the Bison Mens Hockey team from 2005-11. In his years with the Bisons, he was selected as 2009 CIS Goalie of the Year (inaugural award), University of Manitoba Male Athlete of the Year plus 2008, 2009 and 2010 Canada West All-Star. Outside of Manitoba, he played three seasons in the East Coast Hockey League and Central Hockey League including call-ups to the American Hockey League plus was part of 2015 Allan Cup Champion and tournament MVP.
As a coach, Christie is entering fourth year as Assistant coach with the Bisons. In addition, he is a Head coach of the Winnipeg Jr. Jets AAA Spring hockey program; Head Coach of Winnipeg High School Hockey; Skills Coach for Various Hockey Academies
Christie graduated from U of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and Bachelor of Education and is currently a Physical Education teacher and High School Hockey Coach at Murdoch Mackay Collegiate.
