Biography

Midfielder Nicole Davis is not an ordinary Bison soccer recruit. A member of the 2018 recruiting class, the JH Bruns Collegiate graduate will also link up with the Bison track & field program as a dual-sport athlete.

Davis’ trade is built around speed, so it’s no surprise that she plays on the wings of the midfield.

“I’ve always been told that I was quick," she said.

She also carries an impressive track record for both soccer and track & field.

Introduced to soccer at the age of five, Davis has appeared on two provincial teams and represented Bonivital three times at the national stage. She was a Western Canadian All-Star in 2013-14.

Being praised for her speed, Davis took up track & field at the age of 15. As the old saying goes, ‘speed kills’. In a relatively short track & field career, she has captured multiple provincial titles in indoor and outdoor tournaments for the 60m, 100m, 200m and relays.

“I have represented the province many times at national track & field meets,” said Davis. “With my success on the track, I decided that I would pursue track & field full time.”

Davis will have a Bison career that is different than most other student athletes. As her university account is set to open on the pitch and on the track, Davis knows she made the right decision in joining the Bison’s women’s soccer team on top of her other speciality.

“After meeting with Vanessa, I knew that playing Bison soccer was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
