A versatile player makes great use in any roster. That is exactly the case for third-year Abby Eggers. Her wide range of coverage on the pitch will make her a prominent figure in the Manitoba Bison’s lineup sooner rather than later.

“I don’t necessarily have a preferred role on the field; any position that will give the best advantage to our team would be my preference if one needs to be stated,” said Eggers, who can play the outer flanks in both midfield and fullback.

“I am comfortable striking the ball with either of my feet, though I prefer my right.”

For any younger player, having the right mentality is just as important as having the right skill – something that Eggers is already in total control of.

“I take constructive criticism well and I am coachable. I am always trying to improve my game. I am super excited for the opportunity to be part of the Bison soccer team this year and in the future. I bring a positive attitude.”

Eggers is one of two American players on the roster, hailing from Afton, Minnesota – a city 30 minutes east of St. Paul.
The University of Manitoba has already been an accepting environment for Eggers, and she will have the right mindset heading into her second year.

“To be honest, the best part is joining a new family and team! I love them all and I don’t know what I'd do without them.”
