2017 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
One of the more senior members of the Bison’s Women’s soccer team, Alyssa Daley is growing into a leader on and off the pitch. Following signing with the Bisons after four days at the 2013 May ID Camp, Daley is now entering her final year of eligibility.
“I often try to keep things light and fun with whatever we are doing and I use my humour do to that,” Said Daley “while still maintaining focus and energy we need from each player to get things done.”
Her leadership qualities saw her play an influential role in a 3-2 loss against the Fraser Valley Cascades in 2015. Despite the defeat, Daley notched a goal and an assist as the Bisons fought up until the last minute. It was the type of performance expected from a key veteran.
For four years now, Daley’s mentality had always been to serve the Brown and Gold. When asked if that changes at all because of her final season, Daley was very direct.
“I’ve been on the team for four years so I’m familiar with the routines and expectations the coaches have of us and I do my best to pass that along to the players to make sure everyone is on the same page.” Said Daley. “My focus does not change this year, I always go into every season prepared to help in whatever way I can to make the season a success for our team.”
Reflecting on her decision to join the Bisons in 2013, the striker is set to play one more season knowing that she had picked the right program five years prior.
“My parents and I met with assistant coach Gary Johnson and he discussed everything about the program and school. I thought it was also a great opportunity to stay home and continue to play soccer with the support of my family and friends at games.”
