2016 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
Being a Manitoba Bison in itself is quite an honor. However for Camille Plett, playing in front of familiar faces is something that is truly special.
“The opportunity to play in front of my friends and family means a lot of me,” Said Plett. “They have supported me so much on this journey and I just want to show them how far I have come and make them proud.”
She now enters her third year with the Bisons, taking on more responsibility as a senior member of the squad. The product of South End United recognizes the importance of being a leader and role model for a primarily very young group of players.
“These girls are the future of our program,” Said Plett. “I think it’s so important to help them grow and become better players, while working toward their careers. Going into university there are so many unknowns and I want these girls to feel comfortable so having the veterans share their experiences with them can be beneficial.”
While Plett is growing as a leader, she is also a student of the game. She applies the skills demonstrated by professionals in her own game.
“I think that versatility comes from watching soccer and seeing how the pros play those positions,” Said Plett. “I’m not afraid to take risks – I think that sets me aside from the other wingers.”
In addition, the Winnipeg native is a massive fan of English club Liverpool FC, and shows true dedication in supporter her favorite club.
“I watch the games every weekend, even if it means getting up at 6 AM.” Said Plett. “The soccer culture there is so amazing and so inspiring.”
