Byron Bahniuk

A Certified Athletic Therapist, Byron Bahniuk carries with him an impressive resume since earning his Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Manitoba in 1998. Just two years later, he earned his certification in athletic therapy.

Upon entering completing the Basic Remedial Massage Therapy Program in 2000, he became the first person in Manitoba to earn both a Message and Athletic Therapy certifications.

The Bison women’s soccer team represents just one of teams at the University of Manitoba that Bahniuk currently serves as an athletic therapist for. He also plays an AT role with the bison women’s hockey team and the bison men's and women’s volleyball and basketball teams.

Bahniuk has also coached box lacrosse in addition to serving as the head Cert ified Athletic Therapist with Team Manitoba at various youth levels. He has attended the last four national championships with the Predator Lacrosse program as well.

His experience at the international level brings some of the most prestigious sporting teams and tournaments into discussion. Bahniuk has worked with the Canadian men’s and women’s national volleyball teams at the Pam-American Cup, as well as at the IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championships.
