    Strength and Conditioning Coach
Name: Chloe Werle

Position: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Quote: “I am so proud to be a Bison! I love this program and want to be a part of the process of bettering it every year.”

While the 15-16 campaign marked Chloe Werle’s final season in the CIS, it also marked a new beginning for the goalkeeper. By the following campaign, the student-athlete had transitioned into the team’s new assistant strength and conditioning coach – a role which she could not be happier to take on.
“I love my new role as an assistant strength and conditioning coach! It was different at first to not be back training with the team but I’m glad that I can still be a part of the process.” Said Werle.
The Masters of Science student is currently pursuing a career in strength and conditioning. With an extended amount of time committed with the Bison’s Women’s soccer team, Werle has come to realize that ascending to coach from player was a natural fit for her future.
“I always loved strength and conditioning as a player,” Said Werle. “Being in the gym was one of my favorite parts of being on the team. I am pursuing a career in strength and condition and thought that there could be no better way to gain some experience than to help with the training of the soccer team.”
With a passion for her field of study and the team, Werle is quick to credit the program, facility and staff for the Bisons’ successes in recent years. She also credits the philosophy of head coach Vanessa Martinez Lagunas, who has gained strides in such a short time with the Herd.
“One improvement would have to be the implementation of a regular and effective strength and conditioning program, our new state of the art training facility and our full-time dedicated staff,” Said Werle. “Also with the hiring of Vanessa, the establishment of a greater team culture and a vision for where we want to be down the road and what steps we need to get there.”
It’s quite evident that Bisons are progressing quite rapidly into a program that garners some serious attention. With some time on her side, the same could be said to this student-turned-coach as well.
