Arriving as a member of Bison soccer coaching staff in 2018, William Rosales carries with him an impressive track record. A former professional player, Rosales has played with some of the best soccer clubs in El Salvador, and continued his career in Canada.

At 14 years old, Rosales accepted a scholarship with one of El Salvador’s most prestigious private schools. Enrolled in their soccer program, he turned professional just three years later.

Rosales represented two clubs from the El Salvadorian capital of San Salvador – Alianzas FC and CD Atletico Marte. It was with Marte that Rosales earned the nickname el Pony and played a role in capturing three championships with the team.

By the age of 20, he was called up to the national squad and represented Los Cuscatlecos in the Olympics, World Cup qualifiers as wells friendlies.

In 1987, he relocated to Winnipeg and played for the Winnipeg Fury.

Rosales earned his National B license after he decided to become a coach, encouraged by his son’s introduction to competitive youth soccer. He was the secondary technical director for Winnipeg South End United Soccer Club, as well as a founding father of the Winnipeg Soccer Academy (WSA).

Rosales’ coaching resumé also extends to the international stages as he served with thecoaching staff for the Canadian Men’s U-17 national squad that competed in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011.
